License Title: Professional Boxer Registration
License Description: A professional boxer is a person who participates in a boxing contest held in the United States between individuals for compensation or a prize, and does not include any amateur boxing match.
Authorizing Statute: Code of Iowa, 90A.3 and U.S. House of Representatives Resolution 4167
Requirements for License:All individuals who wish to participate in professional boxing matches are federally mandated to have a registration number and picture identification card and must apply with their home state commission. If the home state does not have a boxing commission, they may apply through the state where they are participating in a boxing match.
Federal law mandates that states enforce the boxer registration.
There are no continuing education requirements for renewal of registration.
Fees: Application: $25 - (Two year registration card) Renewal: $25 Exam: None Other: $10 - (Duplicate ID card - can only be issued by original issuing state)
