License Title: Emergency Medical Services - Instructor (Ems-I)
License Description: The emergency medical services-instructor (EMS-I) course is designed to assist experienced emergency medical service providers in providing the highest quality instruction to their students. The course emphasizes adult learning, curriculum and lesson plan development, performance testing, and state policies and procedures. Paid positions are available in the state of Iowa for this occupation.
Authorizing Statute: Code of Iowa 147A
Requirements for License:An applicant for an EMS instructor certification must be currently certified as an emergency medical care provider or currently licensed as a registered nurse, physician assistant or physician.
Recertification can be accomplished by attending at least one EMS-I workshop sponsored by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
