License Title: Elevator Inspector, Licensed
License Description: Elevator inspectors check the safety conditions of elevators, escalators, and lifts.
Authorizing Statute: Code of Iowa 89A.6 and 875 Iowa Administrative Code 71.12
Requirements for License: Applicant must hold a GED or be a high school graduate.
Applicant must have at least 3 years full-time experience installing, constructing, repairing, or inspecting elevators or related equipment.
Applicant must be a certified elevator inspector (CEI) pursuant to ASME QEI-1-2007.
Applicant must pass a written exam specific to Iowa.
Applicant must complete and submit an application form with $60, proper proof of insurance, and a copy of applicant's CEI card.
Fees: Application: $60 Duration: No more than one year.
