License Title: Education - Administrator (Principal/Superintendent)
License Description: Administrators plan and set goals for a school or entire school district; set academic philosophy for the school; visit classrooms, review educational objectives, evaluate teachers, and examine learning materials. They also prepare budgets and administrative reports; confer with teachers, other administrative staff, parents, and community leaders.
Administrators are categorized into three broad areas: 1) elementary principal, 2) secondary principal, and 3) superintendent.

Requirements for License:A principal must have at least a master's degree and have completed an approved administrative program from a recognized institution. In addition, the applicant must have three years of teaching experience at the level for which the administrative service will be provided.
A superintendent must have a master's degree plus 30 semester hours in an approved superintendent's program from a recognized institution. In addition, the person must have three years of administrative experience.
Four semester hours of continuing education are required every five years for renewal of the administrator license.
