License Title: Asbestos Management Planner
License Description: Asbestos management planners evaluate and interpret survey results; review the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and TITLE II requirements for asbestos inspectors and management planners in Subsection 203(8)(1); summarize field data and laboratory results; compare field inspector's data sheet, laboratory results and site survey; conduct hazard assessments; and explain potential significant damage to building owners.
They evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of encapsulation, enclosure, maintenance or removal and select the best option; develop an operations and maintenance plan; keep and control records of inspectors` and contractors` reports, as well as the operations and maintenance program; perform economic analysis and cost estimates; develop cost estimates and reports for building owners; and, may apply for Asbestos School Hazard Abatement Act grants or loans.

Requirements for License:An applicant must have successfully completed the proper training and exam given by a course provider approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Asbestos management planner applicants shall complete a two-day Management Planning training course, which includes lectures, demonstrations, course review and a written examination.
Applicants must submit a completed application, a copy of the training certificate, and two 1"x1" photographs. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
An approved refresher course is required annually for license renewal.
